Title: Unnamed Minera Cave
Post by: Dave Tyson on Dec 30, 2025, 04:05 PM
Location
SJ255520

Directions
Start in Minera Quarry Nature Reserve car park, walk along the road towards the quarry and take
the footbridge over the river Clywedog. Head towards ODB, but stay at ground level and walk west
towards the rocky bank. Look for a low rusty metal plate and entrance is above and behind that.

Access
Ungated, North Wales Wildlife Trust seem to tolerate cavers/mine-explorers, but are not overly welcoming.

Suggested Equipment

Description
A peculiar cave which may be natural, but has been modified by digging. There is a main chamber with a smaller alcove and a passage
leading up a slope to a dead end. There seems to be signs of digging in the main chamber to the S. I originally thought this was Ogof
Hen Ddyn until Cris Ebbs put me right. Neither he or Selwyn Edwards had known about his before.

There are a few old ancient digs
