UCET LADIES TRIP ADVISOR - Penarth Slate Quarry

Hi Ladies

For our next trip we are heading back to Penarth Slate Quarry. A fantastic walk around trip round a moderate sized slate quarry, with it's impressive chambers, multiple winches and seabed ceiling.

Suitable for novices.

Location: Penarth Slate Quarry

Meet Place: A5 layby near Llidiart y Parc, see link below.

Meet date: Wednesday 18th February 2026

Meet time: 18:30

Requirements: Wellies, Helmet, Lamp, Gloves, Clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

If you need to borrow a helmet and lamp please let us know prior to the trip.

Apparently the entrance to Abberllefenni has been bulldozed, and access stopped. Has anyone got any information? It was on my summer list, but maybe not anymore. I believe there are some scetchy abseils possible but off slate blocks so probably more trouble than it's worth.
