I want to kick off a Titan Trip through to peak.
Who's up for it and who wants to lead it?  - i've not done it before!

If theres no-one keen to lead it i can get in touch with some mates up that way to try to get assistance.

(Note have been in discussion with Robbie Shone today - who can organise local help).

Is it suitable for novices - may be a stupid question but I don't know?

No such thing as stupid question in the caving world :)

I haven't done the trip myself so I can't answer it    But I am sure Tim and many others can !  B)

first pitch approx 50 metres
second pitch approx 70 metres
third pitch aprox 80 metres with a re-belay under a overhang .(can be quite a challenge for a noobie). if we can get you trained up on time you should be ok. it's a long way down and you should at least go up aund down north henblas (aka pepie's) a few times to put you in the mood

I wouldn't put a novice any where near it...

One caver I know is banned from the cave for taking novices in, twice! Two major rescues later...

It's not really a place to get "hung up" nor is it my ideal location for trying to "talk" somebody out of trouble.
I'm a very busy person

Mike, I'm intrigued that you assumed it was a she...

as it happenes it was, and no, nothing to do with me or any of the clubs I belong to.

I won't name names on a public forum but everybody really ought to know who as they are likely to get dragged into something they dont want to be involved in if they aren't aware. I guess by your assumption of gender that you might already have an inkling of who...

i would'nt be so stupid as to take any noobies anywhere near titan. i know it's only a long ab but the last re-belay even had some of my lads going and it's a git to rig

Love it . . . :)

Will the trip be going out of Speedwell? I've always wanted to see Speedwell and I really really don't fancy going up and out of Titan

Tim Watts

yer, my original intent was to go out via speedwell - basically its whatever people wanna do.

I'll edit the post a the start of this thread with a names list.

Just one of a large number of dubious activities you like!

I've been in touch with Robbie and he's looking into a local guide for us who'll be able to show us round a bit more of the three counties system :-)

Robbie himself will have emigrated by then or he said he'd have guided us himself - (innsbruck)
